We raise awareness on the global health issue that poor vision represents for one-third of the world’s population. We create and deploy solutions to improve access to healthy vision for underserved communities worldwide. We work with multi-sector partners to open up access to good vision at scale.
We empower individuals to bring positive change to their communities through developing skills and creating jobs and infrastructure. We recognize that women have a crucial contribution to make. We adapt our different vision care models to each local context, and evaluate their impact in order to accelerate and scale-up our efforts.

VISION FOR LIFE
Vision for Life™, Essilor’s social impact fund, was created in 2015 to support sustainable vision care infrastructure and programs, in particular for the 2.7 billion people in the world living with poor vision. It’s the world’s largest strategic giving program dedicated to eliminating uncorrected refractive error.
LEARN MOREAWARENESS
Lack of awareness is a critical barrier for 2.7 billion people who suffer from uncorrected poor vision. Most have lived with visual impairment all their lives and don’t know that solutions exist. We ensure that vision care has the attention it deserves and a wider public understands the quality of life benefits of healthy vision.

VISION IMPACT INSTITUTE
Vision Impact Institute collects, commissions and communicates evidence-based research to drive awareness about the impact of uncorrected vision and advocates for healthy vision as a global priority for policy-makers.

GLASSES FOR
EVERYONE
Our goal is to bring the 2.7 billion suffering from uncorrected poor vision, affordable quality glasses that are comfortable and will help them look their best. These glasses are also easily customized and delivered on the spot, saving those who travelled from far for an eye test a return trip. We believe everyone – from children to adults – deserves good vision and one size doesn’t fit all so we have developed glasses to suit every face shape and every need that can be delivered everywhere.
