Vision for Life™, Essilor’s social impact fund was created in 2015 to support sustainable vision care infrastructure and programs, focusing on the 2.7 billion people in the world living with poor vision. It’s the world’s largest strategic giving program dedicated to eliminating uncorrected refractive error.
Tackling the global challenge of poor eyesight
Vision For Life™ finances projects that improve eye care provision for people in need of vision correction. Initiatives supported to date range from large-scale awareness campaigns, free vision screenings, increasing access to basic visual health solutions and distributing corrective and protective glasses free of cost.
Our Children’s Vision
Vision For Life™ co-founded Our Children’s Vision with the Brien Holden Vision Institute. This global coalition of over 50 NGOs partners works to accelerate and expand access to eye health services for children across the world with a goal of reaching 50 million children by 2020. It is also working to integrate child eye health programs into existing health services as well as into regional, national and global education and health policies. Visit: www.ourchildrensvision.org
