As COVID-19 affects more and more people around the world, the safety of our teams, partners and the communities we serve, remains of the greatest importance. As the entire world continues to battle this global pandemic, we as a responsible organization stay committed to working with all stakeholders to support in the best way we can.
With COVID-19 being spread by respiratory droplets, it is critical to protect one’s mouth, nose and eyes. Yet personal protective equipment (PPE) is in short supply among healthcare and other frontline responders risking their health for our safety.
To help keep these heroes safe, the Essilor Group has so far donated close to 300,000 protective goggles and glasses in China, Italy, France, Germany, Spain, Portugal, USA, UK, Brazil, Colombia and India. These donations are made possible by our country teams, online businesses and Essilor Vision Foundations around the world with support from Essilor’s social impact fund, Vision For Life.

One appreciative ambulance co-ordinator for the National Health Service (NHS) in the UK commented:
These times have been extremely difficult and pretty hard work but all of us with our determination will get through this and come out the other end! Without my glasses I wouldn’t be able to do my job and help the patients who come through to our service so your business supplying NHS employees with free glasses is incredible and will enable me to keep working through this difficult time. Many thanks from every single NHS employee who will benefit from your generosity and myself.
