“Glasses can be very expensive, people living on meager incomes are often forced to make a decision to buy either food or glasses. That’s not a decision that anyone should have to make.”

EyeBuyDirect has donated over 10,000 pairs of prescription glasses for use in an outreach programme organised by Feed The Children in the US.  The gift will make a huge difference in the lives of the children and their families.

“At Feed the Children, we believe in a world where no child goes to bed hungry — a world in which kids grow up wide-eyed, curious, playful, eager to learn, strong, joyful, and full of dreams,” said Kevin Hagan, Feed the Children president and CEO. “But we know that in order for them to enjoy life as kids, they need access to basic health resources, including eyewear.”

EyeBuyDirect’s donation will be distributed by non-profit organization Feed The Children and administered through eye clinics managed by Medical Director, Dr.Larry Biehler. The charity donation runs in parallel to EyeBuyDirect’s inclusive business model, which is committed to access and equality in vision care. The company uses an online platform to provide a wide range of affordable prescription lenses.

“Glasses can be very expensive, and for people living on meager incomes, they are often forced to make a decision to buy either food or glasses. That’s not a decision that anyone should have to make, so we’re grateful for EyeBuyDirect’s generous donation,” said Dr. Biehler. “We’re absolutely thrilled with the quality of the glasses. They’re new, clean and come in a sturdy case with a cleaning cloth, which means that our patients will have access to comfortable and desirable eyeglasses.”
