For the first time ever, Essilor Vision Foundation (EVF) is partnering corporate organizations outside the Essilor Group to deliver good vision in India. It is working with Grasim Industries Limited, a flagship company of global conglomerate Aditya Birla Group and Samasta Microfinance Limited, a microfinance institution to bring free quality eye care services to communities in the rural and coastal regions of Karnataka.

Over the course of three months, Grasim and Samasta are supporting EVF India with resources to organize screening events for around 10,000 people. Through its mobile eye care clinics, EVF India is providing free vision screening for the communities and free glasses for those who require vision correction. The screening events are organized in line with the government’s COVID-19 guidelines.
As a leading diversified player with leadership presence across many sectors, Grasim is ranked among India’s top 10 companies in 2020 with exemplary sustainability and corporate social responsibility (CSR) practices. It aims to build a sustainable and better future by transforming the lives of rural and tribal communities across India. Samasta is committed to working towards women’s economic empowerment and has been providing innovative and affordable financial products to women in both rural and semi urban areas. Its goal is to nurture a holistic approach towards financial inclusion and sustainable development through its CSR programs.
There are many corporate organizations who are actively making a difference in the world today. We are grateful to have connected with two such like-minded partners, Grasim and Samasta, who believe in bringing better lives to underserved communities. For Essilor Vision Foundation, the key to a better life is better sight and we hope that more corporates who are keen on improving lives for everyone will work with us to bring good vision to all as a starting point.
