Rural India suffers from a drastic shortage of qualified eye care professionals, with the nearest optician often over 30km away. Essilor’s Eye Mitra program is bringing vision care to rural areas in India and contributing to the social and economic development of villages by developing a livelihood for local under-employed youth.
