Essilor Vision Foundation headed to Laos for its second medical camp this year in collaboration with the NGO Humanitarian with Love. Over 2,000 people attended the camp for basic health screening activities and over 1,000 tested their vision. 700 of the people screened were equipped with a free pair of corrective spectacles and all 1,000 left the camp with a free pair of sunglasses. “In all my working life I have never seen any day like today” – watch the video to see this moving testimonial.
In Laos, for the 60% of the population who live in rural and mountainous terrain, health infrastructure and services can be difficult to access. Essilor Vision Foundation joined hands with the Humanitarian with Love NGO and Vientiane International Hospital to bring vision care to around 2,000 villagers in the Santhong Province of Vientiane in Laos.
